Living with POTS Anthology

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), also known as DaCosta’s Syndrome and Soldier’s Heart, is caused by the autonomic nervous system not working correctly. In patients living with POTS, a wide spectrum of symptoms occur; many of which affect quality of life. Deemed an invisible illness, Our Stories of Strength wants to provide a platform for their moments of success and strength to be heard – and to inspire others living with POTS to make life a beautiful journey.
The anthology is slated for release in 2015 and will to include 50 stories and poems, plus approximately 10 pieces of artwork within the book.
Our personal journeys are never complete. We want to hear from you no matter where you are in your journey – from recently diagnosed to the more seasoned veterans in this chronic battle.
- What advice would you give to the young woman or man who was finally diagnosed?
- Was there a conversation or moment when your approach to living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) changed for the better?
- Is there a goal you set and achieved? What did it take for you to reach that moment and how did you feel?
- Do you care for someone living with POTS and noticed a positive change in their approach?
The above questions only scratch the surface of what it takes to live with chronic illness. We want to hear these stories — and more!
Each story should about one single event or a couple of closely related events. The premise behind the book is to deliver hope, humor, joy, and a hearty dose of personal success into the readers living with POTS and their loved ones.
All accepted stories will receive a $25 stipend or two copies of the book (retail value $19.99 each) domestically or 1 copy internationally. Payments are made one month after publication. As with all books, we will donate a portion of all proceeds to a non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of those living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.
