Living with Fibromyalgia (Fibrostrong)
Fibromyalgia affects as many as 5 million Americans. It is a condition that causes significant muscle pain, joint stiffness, nerve pain, and more. For those living with FM; some days, weeks, and months are more of a challenge than others. It’s during those difficult times when strength, perseverance, and determination become evident. Our Stories of Strength wants to give your pain a voice while reflecting moments in time where living your best life became your way of life.
The anthology is slated for release in 2015 and will to include 50 stories and poems, plus approximately 10 pieces of artwork within the book.
Our personal journeys are never complete. We want to hear from you no matter where you are in your journey – from recently diagnosed to the more seasoned veterans in this chronic battle.
- What advice would you give to the young woman or man who was finally diagnosed after years of struggle?
- Was there a conversation or moment when your approach to living with Fibromyalgia changed for the better?
- Is there a goal you set and achieved? What did it take for you to reach that moment and how did you feel?
- Do you care for someone living with Fibromyalgia and noticed a positive change in their approach?
The above questions only scratch the surface of what it takes to live with chronic illness. We want to hear these stories — and more!
Each story should about one single event or a couple of closely related events. The premise behind the book is to deliver hope, humor, joy, and a hearty dose of personal success into the readers living with Fibromyalgia and their loved ones.
All accepted stories will receive a $25 stipend or two copies of the book (retail value $19.99 each). Payments are made one month after publication. As with all books, we will donate a portion of all proceeds to a non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of those living with Fibromyalgia.
